April showers don’t bother Ruth at all. This petite two-year-old little girl recently came to the Sanctuary from a partner organization in Tuba City, Arizona. She is settling into life at Dogtown and every day brings her a new experience. A sudden light snow squall isn’t anything new for the dogs here in the high desert. But a photographer in sandals who was unprepared for the cold was.

Sometimes a bit reserved, Ruth found the antics of that silly human irresistible and kept coming over to see if she was OK. Stomping feet, frequent “Brrr, it’s cold” noises, quick dashes inside to warm up — all were completely fascinating to the mystified Ruth.

Snow in April is no big deal for cattle dog mix Ruth

Smart, sweet and eager to please, Ruth is a delight. She is going to make someone an amazing companion.
