This story was written by Best Friends staffer Cathi, about Sandy, one of her favorite Sanctuary dogs. ~Wendy
"I want to introduce you to my pal, Sandy. She is a beautiful 10-year-old girl living at Old Friends, where her caregivers take remarkable care of her. You see, Sandy has a lot of special needs and hasn't had the easiest life. She was adopted in November of 2015, but her person passed away in May of 2016, so she didn't really have time to settle in completely and enjoy her new life in a real home.
She came to the Sanctuary last May with a suitcase full of medical issues. Age just isn’t very kind to any of us, and Sandy is no exception. In particular, Sandy’s hips give her trouble. Our wonderful techs and vets treat Sandy with laser, chiro, hydrotherapy and medication, and right now she is doing really well.
When her hip pain flares up, she can be grumpy about her back end being touched, so an adult home is probably best. Sandy deserves another chance to be with people or a special person with time and resources to give this gal a comfortable forever home and love-filled golden years.”
