This year Thumper our thoroughbred hits the big 3-oh. Hard to believe he's reached the age of 30.

Time sure flies.

He's faced some changes this past year. Lady, his longtime companion, passed away and Thumper now lives with a 33-year-old mare named Tasha. She’s quite a little bossy-pants, which seems to be just right for Thumper. He's doing pretty well for his age. He's still sound, but his dental condition equine odontoclastic tooth resorption and hypercementosis (EOTRH) continues to progress and every year it gets a little bit harder to maintain his weight. It’s noticeable that Thumper’s tongue often appears as though it’s hanging out.

While cute, it’s also a sign of progressing dental issues.

All things considered, though, he's still doing pretty well.

You can learn more about Thumper's time with us here. And thanks to the kindness and generosity of members and Thumper's sponsors, we are able to provide for and take care of this very special birthday boy.
