During a recent trip to Cat World HQ, I visited with my old friend, Eli. This senior has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), which weakens his immune system but not his spirit.
While he looked a little ragged, he is bright and cheerful. This summer has been particularly allergy aggravating. Eli’s little nose is redder than usual and I caught him with a bit of breakfast still on his face.
Despite his appearance, or perhaps because of it, Eli is enjoying more sympathetic cuddles from volunteers and staff. Between snuggles, Eli can be found sunning on one of his outside perches, snacking or just enjoying the view.
